Data Center Design Lead

Remote, United States · Full time · Posted

The Data Center Design Lead owns the PacinfraX reference design for liquid-cooling-ready AI halls, from electrical and mechanical systems to tenant fit-out, and adapts it to each campus and each customer in the United States and Vietnam.

About the role

You set the design basis every PacinfraX hall is built to, and you sit with customers to turn their racks, density and cooling choices into a hall that energizes on schedule.

Who you work with

You work with our power systems engineer on the power path, our development teams in Texas and Vietnam on each site, and our customers' own engineers on their racks and cooling. Design consultants and EPC partners take direction from you.

Responsibilities

  • Own the reference design for AI halls: power distribution, A and B feeds, cooling, white space and security.
  • Lead the liquid cooling design, from direct-to-chip manifolds and coolant distribution units to heat rejection.
  • Set redundancy hall by hall to match each customer workload.
  • Translate customer requirements into a design basis for build-to-suit, powered shell and colocation halls.
  • Direct design consultants and work with EPC partners through construction and commissioning.
  • Keep design standards consistent across Texas, Minnesota and Vietnam.

What you bring

  • Experience leading the design of large data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
  • Deep knowledge of high-density power distribution and liquid cooling for GPU racks.
  • Comfort working directly with customer engineering teams on their requirements.
  • The judgment to keep one design standard while adapting it to each site and climate.
  • Readiness to travel to campus sites in the United States and Vietnam.
