Hydrogen and ammonia program for industrial and marine buyers

PacinfraX is developing a hydrogen and ammonia program co-located with campus power, for industrial and marine buyers. Power on the campus feeds electrolysis, hydrogen is converted to ammonia, and the product reaches buyers through industrial and port channels. We are seeking technology partners and offtakers to define the first plant.

Who it's for

Who the program is for

The program looks for two groups. Buyers who want a supply of hydrogen or ammonia as an industrial input or as a marine fuel, and partners who bring technology, engineering or logistics. If you sit in either group, we want to talk.

  • Industrial buyers

Operators that use hydrogen or ammonia as a feedstock or an energy input and want a supply tied to a defined source.

  • Marine and port buyers

Shipping and port operators looking for ammonia as a fuel or bunkering product.

  • Technology partners

Electrolyser, conversion and storage providers who can show performance on industrial sites.

Technology partners can write to [email protected]. Prospective offtakers can start with Request capacity.

Program flow

How the program works, from campus power to buyer

The program starts with power. A PacinfraX campus produces electricity from on-site generation and storage. A share of that power feeds electrolysis, which splits water into hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen can be used directly or converted to ammonia, which is easier to store and ship. Industrial and marine buyers take the product at the plant or through a port.

The power side is described on power infrastructure.

What you get

What the program offers

Six things the program offers
  • A co-located source

    Product made beside campus power.

  • Two product forms

Hydrogen for direct industrial use and ammonia for storage, shipping and marine fuel.

  • Defined offtake terms

Volume, specification and delivery point are agreed with each buyer before the plant is sized.

  • Shared infrastructure

Utilities, security and logistics benefit from the campus footprint.

  • Partner-led technology

Technology is selected with partners who commit to performance on the plant.

  • One accountable developer

PacinfraX leads siting, permitting and program delivery.

How we deliver

From offtake definition to delivery in six steps

Design basis

Design basis for the program

The program is in development, so the design basis describes intent. Each element is confirmed with partners and buyers as the project advances.

ElementDesign intent
PowerElectricity from the co-located campus, supplied through dedicated switchgear.
WaterWater supply and treatment planned with the site and the electrolysis technology.
ElectrolysisModular electrolyser units installed in skids, added as demand grows.
ConversionHydrogen converted to ammonia where buyers or logistics call for it.
StorageHydrogen and ammonia storage sized to the offtake profile.
SafetyHazard studies, detection, separation distances and emergency plans for each product.
LogisticsPipe, road, rail or port routes chosen with each buyer.

Ammonia

Why ammonia travels better than hydrogen

Hydrogen is light and needs compression or cooling to move in volume. Ammonia carries hydrogen in a denser form and uses storage and shipping practice that the industry already knows. That is why the program plans ammonia for buyers who are far from the plant or who need a marine fuel.

Ammonia handling and separation distances

Ammonia also demands careful handling. We plan separation distances, detection systems and emergency response with local authorities and with the buyers who receive the product.

Industrial and marine buyers

Delivery to industry and to ports

Industrial buyers can take hydrogen by pipe or ammonia by road or rail. Marine buyers take ammonia at a port terminal, either as cargo or as bunker fuel. We design the logistics with each buyer so the product arrives in a form and at a place that fits their operation.

Three delivery routes: industry, marine fuel and export
  • Industrial feedstock and energy: hydrogen or ammonia delivered to the buyer’s site.
  • Marine fuel: ammonia supplied at port terminals for vessels that can use it.
  • Export: ammonia shipped to buyers in other regions.

Partners

What we look for in technology partners and offtakers

A program of this kind needs partners who share the risk. We look for the following.

The four partner types we look for
  • Technology partners: proven electrolysis, conversion or storage technology with a clear performance commitment.
  • Offtakers: buyers who can define volume, specification, delivery point and term.
  • Engineering and logistics partners: teams who have built and run hydrogen or ammonia handling on industrial sites.
  • Local partners: port, rail and utility operators near candidate campuses.

FAQ

Hydrogen and ammonia program questions

What is the PacinfraX hydrogen and ammonia program?

It is a development program co-located with campus power, for industrial and marine buyers. Campus power feeds electrolysis, and hydrogen can be converted to ammonia.

Who is the program for?

Industrial and marine buyers who want hydrogen or ammonia, and technology partners who bring electrolysis, conversion or storage capability.

Why co-locate with campus power?

Electrolysis needs large, steady electricity. A campus already plans generation, storage and grid connection, so the plant can draw from that infrastructure.

Why produce ammonia as well as hydrogen?

Ammonia stores and ships hydrogen in a denser form and fits marine fuel and long-distance supply.

4 more questions
How do I become an offtaker?

Use Request capacity and describe the product, volume, delivery point and timing you need. We reply with the next step.

What do technology partners need to show?

Proven performance on industrial sites, a clear commitment to plant performance and the ability to support the project through commissioning.

Is the plant operating today?

The program is in development. We are seeking technology partners and offtakers to define the first plant.

Where could the program sit?
